Running around at work today I noticed a buzz among many of my colleagues in the IT department and so I walked over to this one guy and asked what the big deal was and he mentioned that the office staff was having a wager amongst themselves as to who would win the biggest SEO challenge that is currently going on. Yes, I know, apparently there are SEO contests that take place ever so often where the creme de la creme of the SEO world take part in a free for all competition to rank the highest on the biggest search engine of them all, Google.

The gambler in me took note immediately and with a poker face asked to know a bit more about the SEO Challenge. It seems an Australian company called Busby Web Solutions is sponsoring the contest and the goal of the contest is to rank the highest for the phrase Busby SEO Challenge. There are about 400 contestants at last count and the contest finishes on Aug 31st. Now for the odds, the odds on favorite is the team from France. They are a tag team of about 30 people followed closely by the team from Indonesia with team strength of 20 followed by the team from Philippines whose exact team size is a mystery. Most of the office seems to be siding with the team from France which in my opinion gives me a poor return.

I have been following this challenge for a few days now and I seem to have spotted my favorite for now. I like longer odds and so am backing this Busby SEO Challenge entrant. He seems to be making steady progress and from reading his blogs about search engine optimization and seo services, he seems to know his stuff.

So lets wait and watch and wish me luck. I have 5 big ones riding on this guy and will let you know how it goes.
